Plans for moving off CentOS 7?

Congrats on the success of OpalStack. Not easy to run such a great hosting service, especially now for several years.

As time marches on, CentOS 7 is starting to look a little.... long in the tooth:

EOL for CentOS 7 is just six months away -- any plans to introduce a new OS? Maybe Alma or Rocky? I would imagine this would require migrating people one by one, but may allow for the eventual sunset of the old servers?

Alma and Rocky sound like contenders, but no official announcement yet. But I can say it is something being worked on with a HIGH priority. Elective migrations sound reasonable. Stay tuned, we appreciate everyone's patience.

dordal We should have the first servers running a new OS available within the next couple of months, but there's no specific ETA yet.

anjanesh once we've rolled it out, AlmaLinux will be the only OS available for new servers. There will be no difference in pricing.
