Can a Key File Be Used for SFTP Access?

According to the Server Access page on the User Guide, it seems that SFTP can only be used with a password. Am I understanding correctly? I'd prefer to use a key file.

Van SFTP uses the same auth mechanisms as SSH, so if you have a SSH key set up then the sftp command will use it automatically.

If you're using a GUI SFTP client, then you can configure that to use the key as well.

So I need to setup SSH for my server then as mentioned in the docs? Yes, I'm using a GUI SFTP client...Filezilla.

Van That's right. Once you've generated your SSH key, you can use it with FileZilla as described in their documentation here.
