Upcoming change to Apache/PHP-CGI apps

About the ongoing change to Apache/PHP-CGI apps started on On 31 January 2022. What is the status of this? For example for opal5.

We'll update this maintenance item when the rollout begins and as it progresses.

Honestly I'm not a fan of just changing things on the config.
Without specific time. Could be that apps, sites that don't run or don't run well anymore. E.g..

We're rolling this out slowly on smaller servers (ie individual customer VPS) to ensure that existing PHP apps will continue to operate normally, and we're doing before/after checks on every individual customer site as the changes are made.

Sites relying on .htaccess will still work? I have about 12 sites using it.

Therefore, will the application type PHP-CGI with Apache become PHP-FPM with Apache?
