Deleting a manually added over-riding DNS record

From Opalstack user guide:

"Opalstack generates the following types of DNS records automatically for every domain or subdomain that you add to your account:
[ for example MX ]
These automatically-generated records do not appear in the dashboard. You can override them by creating manual DNS records as described below."

If I manually add an over-riding DNS record, and subsequently delete it, does the underlying automatically-generated DNS record re-appear?

(Comment: you might suggest I could find this out for myself using 'dig'. But Cloudflare introduces an extra level of complexity which affects the operation of dig. I'm assuming the best approach is to first get everything right at the Opalstack level and then manually put things right at Cloudflare.)

Yes - for example, if you create Google MX records here at Opalstack and then delete them, the default Opalstack MX records will then be published in our NS again.

If you want to check what NS records Opalstack is publishing while your domain is using a different NS provider, then you can pass a NS hostname to dig to query that server directly, eg:

dig MX domain.com @ns1.de.opalstack.com

Maybe where the dox say "Opalstack generates the following types of DNS records automatically for every domain or subdomain that you add to your account:..." it could add "except in special cases such as when you add a _dmarc subdomain".

Since service-oriented records like _dmarc, _domainkey, etc can't be used as hostnames we don't generate other record types for those automatically. Will add something to the docs soon.
