Trying to point sub-domain to Google Sites using CNAME but failed

At the moment, I have mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com pointed to an application in Opalstack.

Now, I'm trying to create a new sub domain and point it to my google sites.
So, I created a CNAME and trying to set the content as ghs.googlehosted.com as instructed from Google,

but unable to do so.

May I know what did I do wrong? I'm not familiar with domains stuff, hopefully you can help me, thanks.

lsw you'll have to delete the TXT record, then add the CNAME.

I've remove the TXT record, and tried to add ghs.googlehosted.com. (with the period at the end) as instructed by Google

But it wouldn't let me, saying domain name invalid

Removing the dot at the end will let me pass, however.

May I know how to solve this? I read elsewhere Why CNAME/MX/NS targets require a “dot” and it seems the dot is significant.

lsw The generated CNAME record that is published in DNS will include the trailing dot automatically.
