Dear Opalstack team and community,
Super happy with the service and support, as I was in the WebFaction times. Top stuff and I am grateful you peeps exist ๐
Since the panel got redesigned, I find its UX and information display a bit lacking. I was wondering if @opalstack could set something up for its users to flag issues and suggestions in a more structured manner, so that your team can build a faster & better picture of what things look and feel like from our side.
While I am posting this to ask about "coordinating feedback", I think it's fair I outline why I think there is a lot of room for improvement on the Panel. I'll try to be brief.
Domains page grid-like pagination is very confusing. A lot of information is hidden in "next" or text is cut-off with ellipsis to make it fit. I feel this would be better served by a scrollable table layout. Scrolling is easier than clicking and I can use CMD+F on the page to jump to the site or domain I need.
Dates (in the logs and elsewhere) are listed in US format (MM/DD/YYYY) which I believe is confusing to the rest of us who are not used to that. Some basic localisation would be welcome, or simply stick to the "un-opinionated" YYYY-MM-DD ๐
The text / button size feels too large across the board. I can zoom out of course, and the UI appears to be responding well to that, but on smaller screens it can be quite uncomfortable sometimes.
Inability to create domains or apps while creating a website. We need to have both ready in order to be able to select them. This sometimes means going into the website creation UI, filling it out to a point, only to realise we need to discard and and do a bunch of other stuff first.
This are just off the top of my head. It would be good to have a place to manage these conversations more like Github issuesโฆ
Happy to hear your thoughts!
