What has been changed due to the new GUI ?

whereas in the old GUI

a0) site routes were own object class/group

each VPS user can still upload/download
only the apps he/she has permission to use ?

The biggest changes are the visual design and the front-end and back-end performance. The old dash was several MB in size and loaded slowly, and the back-end would take several minutes to push changes around throughout the infrastructure. The new dash is much lighter, loads very quickly, and changes are usually pushed in seconds.

Other major changes:

Sites, domains, and manual DNS records are managed together at https://my.opalstack.com/domains/. You manage DNS records by clicking the edit icon for a site. We've also dropped the "site route" terminology and sites are now just "sites".
Apps and shell users are managed together at https://my.opalstack.com/apps/.
Email addresses and mailboxes are managed together at https://my.opalstack.com/mail/. We've also replaced the term "mail user" with "mailbox".
There are no more pop up notifications dashboard operations like installing apps and generating certificates. Instead those items are logged to https://my.opalstack.com/logs/.

Nothing has changed with regard to what your shell users can do and the way your apps work.

Something I noticed is that there is no longer anything displaying usage metrics (disk space, memory, etc.) in the UI; useful for knowing usage relative to my current plan.

Will this functionality be re-introduced at some point?

aautar yes, your resource usage metrics will be coming back to the dashboard soon 🙂
