Will these changes help opalstack servers to answer sftp connection list command faster after the sftp connection has been established ?

Too often for example for filezilla clients the opalstack server does nothing although all the info such as vps server, vps user, password and 22 has been given right.

Recently it may require 3-4 times to get the opalstack server to list directories and thereafter to do the job such as upload and download.

We have not updated ftp clients, for example filezilla version is the same.

Connection speed is OK for transmissions.

Is there a heavy load going on in the opalstack servers when it does not provide directory listing ?

What has changed in the opalstack server side because earlier the server provided the listing very fast and with the first request ?

dragonxi I've split your comment to its own topic because it is unrelated to the announcement where you originally posted it.

Your VPS is occasionally under heavy load, and I suspect it is because you have a very high number of applications all simultaneously running a start command via cron every 10 minutes. This could be the cause of your slow SFTP directory listings.

The reason the problem got worse over time is because each new app you created came with its own cron job, so the CPU usage from these simultaneous cron jobs increased a bit each time.

I've randomized the 10-minute intervals that your various start cron jobs use, so that the CPU usage caused by the jobs will not happen all at once.

Please let me know if you continue to notice performance issues in your SFTP connections.

Thanks Sean, randomizing fpm starts should help - cronjobs for each vps user apps backup we already had timed with Python script so that they don't start at the same time.
