Hi,

I've got some WebFaction news that I'm sharing because I know most of us are ex-WF customers.

I contacted WF support to ask about a refund for my closed account. It's been 46 days since Dec 10, the original cutoff date for non-migrating accounts, and their FAQ says that refunds for remaining funds are supposed to be issued within 45 days. This is the response I got:

Refunds are in progress.
You should see one in the next few weeks.

Regards,
Björn M.

I suppose we have to wait a few more weeks.

FYI I received my refund on the 7 Jan. So they definitely are processing them.

I got my refund today.

Has anyone received their refund recently? I'm still waiting for mine. I feel this is taking way to long now.

chad I did the same last month and was able to get the refund. I also recommend emailing Webfaction support. They were quick to respond and helped to get the refund processed.

I contacted them and they say it might take 30 days for accounting to look into my request.

Reminded by this thread, I sent in a ticket (priority=medium) on 9th March.

WF support replied within 20 minutes: "I've forwarded your request for it to be looked into further."

Yesterday my paypal account received refund.

I just got an email from Paypal stating Paragon Internet Group Limited has sent you $12.47 USD. Yippee.

    But.

It looks like a scam. Using my old paypal email address and I've to click a button
"Get your payment in just a few easy steps. Claim it by 22 July 2021 or it will be returned to the sender. "
Link looks okay but why would I need to "claim" my own money. Can't see any mention of it when logged into paypal.

Anyone clicked the button and lived to tell the tail?

I got my Webfaction refund at June 16. Had forgotten about it completely, so nice surprise.

But did you need to click the paypal button. @webtweakers ?
Not risking a virus for £10. It's the use of my old email address and no mention of it when logged into paypal.

I didn't need to do anything, but it does appear nicely on my Paypal activity: "Refund for your WebFaction account".

I got the refund as well, but com'on if i link my bankaccount to paypal, they get permission to scrape all transactions and probably sell it off as targeted ad data. How am i supposed to claim this without those leeches crawling in... doh

Figured out my problem. I'd disconnected the email address in use with Webfaction from Paypal. Added it back in and with about 2 clicks the money was in my account. Better than letting those GoDaddy muppets keep it....

    Hi,
Does anyone have an email or any contact I can contact them now? Because this about 2 months when my account I officially closed without refund.
    Thanks
