CouchDB on Opalstack

It's cool to see all of the goodies installed on Opalstack servers (e.g. Rust and Erlang + OTP).

One thing I managed to get running at Webfaction (with a bunch of trial and error) was CouchDB. My couch instance is still running at Webfaction, and it's one of the last things I need to migrate before I can shut my account off over there.

I'm hoping to avoid painful trial and error this time. Any tips or maybe even a CouchDB on Opalstack installation script / tutorial on the way?

kurt We don't have a CouchDB procedure yet, but if you've built a CouchDB stack on WF's CentOS7 platform then you might be able to copy it over and run it with just a few minor tweaks to your configuration like:

Change the port numbers to your port assignment here at Opalstack (create a proxy port app to get a port).
Change webapps to apps in your config, scripts, etc
Change logs/user to logs/apps/appname
Change /home/wfusername to /home/shellusername if you're using a different shell user name here.

I have successfully installed the latest version of couchdb (3.1.1) from source on opal1 and will try to follow up with a tutorial in the next few days.

I started a tutorial on installing CouchDB 3.1.1. It's a WIP, and I'm happy to add to it as necessary. Hopefully someone finds it useful.
