(1) Would it be possible for the Opalstack server software to set https as default protocol instead of http if the domains defined are xxxxxxxx.app or .xxxxxxx.dev ? (2) Now the server proposes http which is not recommended and in fact the new browser versions force https for .app - the case is the same with .dev domains. (3) also if server could offer LE SSL Certicate as default for .app and .dev would speed up migration work.

dragonxi I'll make a note of your interest in having HTTPS as a default.

In the meantime it is literally one click to have HTTPS with LE turned on when you're setting up your site in the dashboard. That's not so bad, right? 🙂

I've tried all of the major browsers and there's nothing forcing HTTPS for .app and .dev domains. Where did you get that info?

sean Google gave this info. Google bought the TLD domains .app and .dev. If you type with the latest browser versions Chrome, Chrome Beta, Firefox and Opera just typing in for example app2ace4yo.app or arcticocean.dev then those browser version automatically add https whereas for example older IE browser assumes http.

Can you inform us once http to https rerouting becomes unwise/unnecessary for .app and .dev sites ? Did I understand right that you are working to have https as default protocol for nginx proxy ? the same one we use for php sites?

dragonxi if you need HTTPS enforced for your sites then you should enable the redirect and keep it that way, there are no plans to change that.
