Nameservers and HTTPS

I have got WordPress working. What step should I take first?

(1) Put the nameservers in domain providers like this, right? It’s only 3 nameservers, it’s not 4 like most hosting, right?
ns1.us.opalstack.com
ns2.us.opalstack.com
ns3.us.opalstack.com
(2) Change the Opalstack domain to mydomain.com in the Opalstack panel
(3) Wait for mydomain.com is working
(4) HTTPS: Is this how to do it? Site Routes > Edit > Slider to on (Lets Encrypt certificate) > Save
(5) In WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > General > Change WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to https://www.mydomain.com

Is that the right direction?

sean OK, I have done step 2. Should I delete the Webfaction app and domain because it still showing https://www.mydomain.com/ from Webfaction and your connection is not private?

mikey3d Sounds like a DNS propagation issue to me. Please ensure that you've done the following.

Add mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com to your site in the Opalstack dashboard.
Wait at least 15 minutes.
Enable HTTPS on your site in the Opalstack dashboard.
Wait another 5-10 minutes.

At that point I think your DNS changes should be propagated, the certificate generated, and things should just work.

sean I have look at DNS propagation from https://intodns.com/ - it was your nameservers working but it doesn’t matter because every time I deleted an “s” in the URL http(s)://www.mydomain.com it goes right back where it was. Either the two problems I have solved are enabling HTTPS and adding URL for WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) in functions.php. It works.

I think the problem is probably I have to clear delete my URL in the browser's settings which I haven't.
