Using mail in the "New" Outlook app

Hi,
I'm having trouble configuring the email in the "new" Outlook app on Windows. When I try to configure the mail as an IMAP account, using settings as described here:
ocs.opalstack.com/user-guide/email/#email-client-configuration
I tried both port 465 and 587 for the SMTP..

I always get this message:
"Something went wrong. Try again. You may neen an app password. "

Or:
"Error":"INVALIDCREDENTIALS INTERACTIONREQUIRED"

I found here that it might indeed be connected to the use of SSL and that I would need to be able to generate a specific app password:

Has anyone here been able to use the Opalstack mail with the new Outlook app. With the old Outlook all works as expected.

opeeters At this time the "new" Outlook app cannot be used with Opalstack's email services.

The reason is that Microsoft removed the ability to log in with a normal username and instead assumes that the username is the email address.

We're looking into the possibility of using email addresses as usernames on our end but there is no ETA for that. In the interim I recommend you use a different mail client like Thunderbird or our webmail system.
