Mosh server

I've currently got somewhat unreliable internet at home. In this instance I prefer using Mosh instead of plain SSH since it handles spotty connections better. However, mosh requires installation on the server as well as the client. Is it possible to install it locally? I've only found instructions for installing it system-wide.

Install a new "Nginx Proxy Port" app at https://my.opalstack.com/apps/ to reserve a port for mosh. Make a note of the port assignment.
Email Opalstack support to request that your mosh port be opened in the firewall for UDP traffic.
SSH to your server as the new app's shell user.

Execute the following commands, replacing "name_of_app" with the name of your app from step 1. If you see an error message about "protobuf", "protoc", or similar then contact Opalstack support to have them installed on your server.

cd ~/apps/name_of_app
wget https://mosh.org/mosh-1.4.0.tar.gz
tar zxf mosh-1.4.0.tar.gz
cd mosh-1.4.0
./configure --prefix=$HOME/apps/name_of_app
make
make install

On your own computer, make the mosh connection like so (replace "NNNNN" with your port number, "name_of_app" with your app name, "shelluser" with your shell user name, and "opalXX" with your Opalstack server name):

mosh -p NNNNN --server=/home/shelluser/apps/name_of_app/bin/mosh-server shelluser@opalXX.opalstack.com
