Those of us who liked the WebFaction platform and have thus stayed with it until now have just recently been receiving notices about migrations and/or cancellations of our accounts, and therefore are probably looking for alternatives at the moment. (I just got a notice that my two WebFaction accounts "cannot be migrated" to their new platform.)
It would be great to see the type of page you mentioned above comparing/contrasting WebFaction and Opalstack. I'm not too concerned with the deep details, but am more interested in kind of "If I'm used to using WebFaction, what will I need to adjust/change/learn to use Opalstack?"
As someone who maintains several websites as just one duty in my busy work schedule, having something similar to WebFaction is very appealing because the less time I can spend on making this change, the better. It looks like many of the alternatives out there aren't as similar to what WebFaction provided, so I'm excited by the prospect of Opalstack. Thanks!
