There should be no reason you cannot install it on our servers. That is unless you require root/sudo access, then it will not work. You just have to compile it from source into a user home directory. The basic way to do that is add a local prefix to the configure command when you run it:
./configure --prefix=$HOME
That applies to all dependencies you need to install along side of it too. I think the latest OpenLDAP release requires a newer version of OpenSSL (1.1.1 or newer), and some times the latest Berkley DB may not work with it, so in that case consider downgrading if you encounter issues.
