Sent emails on client

I've always configured all my email accounts on Outlook desktop for mac and before that using the Mail app from mac as well, and noticed all the sent emails are lost when I re-configure or remove and add any account. Wondering if this can be avoided somehow, to prevent all the sent email from being lost.

drocha the usual behavior for an IMAP mail account is to store its sent mail in an IMAP mail folder on the server.

Since the mail is stored on the server, if you remove that account you will no longer have access to that server and those lose access to those sent messages.

If that's not the behavior you want then edit your mail account preferences to change the location of sent mail to a local folder on your computer. In Apple Mail, you can do that via Preferences > Accounts > (select the account) > Mailbox Behaviors.

I assume Outlook has similar options, so check your account settings there and look for them.

not sure I understood, but are you saying that all the sent emails should be stored in the server ? in the Opalstack mail server ?

if that's so, that's not happening for me. what I'd like is to have all the sent emails viewed in my phone when I'm not at my computer, not sure that makes sense.

drocha I'm saying that most IMAP email clients are normally configured to store mail on the server.

I don't know how you have your own email client configured, so I don't know if your own sent messages are stored on the server.

If you'd like further assistance with this then please email our support address and include screenshots from your mail client showing all of your mail account settings.

Thanks @sean , I've talked with Outlook 365 support, and apparently the port 587 doesn't work for having the mail server in sync with the client, prefer to use the port 465 when possible. Doing that worked for me

drocha That's pretty strange! Port 587 is TLS for SMTP, but SMTP is not used at all when saving message on the server. That's done entirely over IMAP.
