Update Node.js for Ghost

Hello,

During the "1-click" Ghost installation I got a warning saying

The current Node.js version (10.23.0) has reached end-of-life status.
Ghost-CLI will drop support for this Node.js version in an upcoming release,
please update your Node.js version.

When I restart Ghost, there is a message on the console about not finding the "worker_thread" module, and the site would show an "502 Bad Gateway" error. Luckily, the site always seems to come back to life after some time.

What's the best way to update my Node installation for my Ghost blog?

nunu Ghost installations on our platform come bundled with a newer version of Node.

If you're using the start and stop scripts that were included with the app then the newer Node is used automatically.

If you're running ghost commands directly then you'll need to set your shell PATH to pick up the newer Node before you run any node/ghost commands.

To do so, run the following command:

export PATH=$HOME/apps/name_of_app/node/bin:$PATH

nunu the shell PATH is a list of directories that is used to locate executable files.

For example, the Linux date command is an executable file located at /usr/bin/date. The default PATH includes /usr/bin so you don't have to run /usr/bin/date - instead you can just run date.

By adding your bundled node/bin directory to the beginning of the PATH, you're able to make $HOME/apps/name_of_app/node/bin/node the default node.
