domains and sub-domains and LetsEncrypt certificates

I am a bit confused about creating and using sub-domains.

For example I have set up example.org (site: example-org, app: example-org-app and LE certificated). Later I want to add a sub-domain subdomain.example.org with its own app etc. The setup works (the site is served correctly with the correct pages) but I cannot seem to set an LE certificate for that subdomain. When accessing that subdomain over https, the browsers complain about certificate mismatch. The option I choose is “Automatic Let's Encrypt™ Certificate?” on the site set up widget. Choosing the certificate for the parent domain equally returns an error (but that I was expecting I think, those LE certificates are not wild-card *.example.org ?).

phiw13 your certificate will be updated automatically when you add the domains to the site, but it can take several minutes for that to happen - possibly longer right now because a lot of new customers are generating certificates.

if it's been more than a couple of hours then please email support @ opalstack.com wit the site details so that we can look into it.

Thank you, I have set up my subdomain again and hooked it up (routes, app, …). I’ll wait a little before testing further.

Edit: OK,waiting a little longer and all is fine – the subdomain has a certificate hooked up and everything routes, works and displays as expected.
Now ready to settle in at Opalstack.
