(1) What is the best Pacific Time for crontab
jobs to minimize the vps116.opalstack server load ?

(2) How to define the best time values for tar command
embedded in job2tar4xxxx.sh,
where xxxx={app2domain ... domain n)

i.e.
(a) when to start
(b) when to finish
trying to
(c) avoid the situation that several tar commands
would be started at the same time for many
vps users
(d) start a cron job for one vps user after
the cronjob has been finished for the previous
one

dragonxi you're the only customer using your VPS. Schedule your cron jobs according to the schedule you need.

If you need them to run consecutively with no overlap then that's a bit more complicated. If that's the case then you'll probably want to run your jobs as a single shell user (after granting access to whatever directories that user will need.

Hi Sean!

(1) We created Python program to genetate back scripts for each VPS user

one script to backup userspace-fpm-installer
one script to backup apps

(2) Each VPS user

uploaded scripts
executed
downloaded backups

(3) We contemplate crontab tasks

userspace-fpm-installer can be backed up manually - it changes only if new fpm apps are added
apps do change, have to figure out when to backup
