Site being redirected to www subdomain, no redirects have been setup?

I recently setup a new site. I have an A record for my domain pointing to my Opalstack IP, and a CNAME for www pointing to my domain. Before this I had a second A record for WWW also pointing to my Opalstack IP.

In both cases when I go to my domain, there is a noticeable delay as it redirects to the www subdomain. I have not setup any redirects explicitly.

What could be causing this?

If you're seeing this redirect to www on a Wordpress site, then I suspect that your WP site is configured internally to use the www subdomain as its main URL.

If you think this might be the case, then you can change it via Settings > General in your WP dashboard, or by using any of the methods described in the WP documentation: Changing the Site URL.
