Ghost application crashing

I just launched my new site using Ghost but it seems to be eating up all my RAM which I believe has caused my site to crash several times already.

I am on the Value Stack Monthly subscription and currently have a couple of wordpress websites and this newly added released Ghost site. Is this too much for this subscription? Do I need to upgrade?

Note: I have read the docs and it's not running (or shouldn't be at least) in development mode.

Hodson I've checked the logs on your server and confirm that your Ghost app is using more than 512MB of RAM. This is causing our quota monitor to terminate all of your processes.

You might be able to reduce your Ghost memory usage by using symlink apps to serve the app's images and theme assets, eg:

Create a "Nginx Static Only (Symbolic Link)" app named "ghostapp_assets" with /home/shelluser/apps/ghostapp/ghost/content/themes/theme-name/assets/ as the symlink path.
Create a "Nginx Static Only (Symbolic Link)" app named "ghostapp_images" with /home/shelluser/apps/ghostapp/ghost/content/images/ as the symlink path.
Edit the site at https://my.opalstack.com/routes/ to add the symlink apps to the site as new app routes:
- ghostapp_assets on /assets
- ghostapp_images on /images
Save the site and wait about 5 minutes.
Restart Ghost.

If that doesn't help then you'll need to upgrade your plan to accommodate the amount of memory you need.

My RAM usage was just at over 500MB but it seems to have come back down to a respectable ~130MB

Thanks for the fast response. I will try these steps.

I just did a bit of Googling and apparently Ghost recommend a minimum of 1GB RAM. I should have read about this before 😑. I will most likely contact support soon to arrange an upgrade!
