How to add Tsearch2 (Full text search engine) and PostGIS (Spatial and geographic extensions) add-ons in PostgreSQL?
Tsearch2 and PostGIS Add-ons for PostgreSQL
- Edited
Contact our support team to ask them to install it for you.
Note that these extensions are enabled per-database so be sure to include the name of the database when you contact them.
Edit: tsearch2
was dropped from PostgreSQL a couple of versions back and replaced with native text search capabilities, so that extension is not available.
Hello, I need some guidance here. I have many Django sites that rely on tsearch2 at Webfaction that are being migrated to Opalstack now through early December. There's a Postgres version difference of 9.4.26 and 11.8. How would I change over to utilize Postgres text search? I assume that is the only option at this point.
cjrw native text search was added around v9.5 so I think the notes here can help you: https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.6/textsearch-migration.html
@sean Thanks for the wonderful work you and your team are doing. I understand that you are all overloaded, but having an option in the dashboard to enable PostGIS is crucial. I have a couple more databases to import and configure, and they all require that extension. I'm still waiting on one of my support requests as well. It just holds up the migration process, testing etc for me. Please do look into it as it will help everyone in the future.
Once again, fantastic support so far. Keep it up.
Thanks
