vkbr great question! I've not tried it yet, but I'll follow up here as soon as I get a chance.

I think I'll start with the JSON export mentioned at Move a Ghost Site Across Servers and see how that goes 🙂

So I successfully migrated a ghost site, upgrading it in the process 🙂
I basically followed the link you provided.
Using the opal ghost installer to begin with.
I had to update the theme version aswell resulting in some changes in the look. But that's because the version of the original blog was very old.
easy stuff.
