Your opalstacked subdomain doesn’t have any A records in DNS until you either add it to a site or explicitly create an A record for it. Once you do, it may take up to an hour or more (but usually less) for the change to propagate.

Hmm. this is clear as mud to me.... So my courtesy default subdomain is bici.opalstack.com Where do i need to add the A record. On my opalstack CP? some registrar? What would an A record look like. May i suggest this be added to the documentation on the free subdomain that comes with our account? "Free opalstacked.com Subdomains"

I may have figured it out. I added an A record with this: 23.108.108.200... will see what happens

It's a bit of magic on our end but if you connect it to a site record (add it to a Site) we automatically generate the A records for you. You can also create subdomains on top of it: foo.bici.opalstacked.com.

Thanks. But now i don't know if your magic would have worked as I added the A record ;=)

bici The opalstacked.com domain uses Opalstack's NS and is managed by Opalstack's control panel. If you create some subdomain of user.opalstacked.com and assign an A record to it, then it will work exactly like any other domain that uses our NS and is managed by our panel.

ok. ready for the next steps. how do i add Lets Encrypt? And i would like to add the full suite of records. ... MX, TXT, A, AAA etc. I added the Let encrypt to my bici_app but it renders as "Not Secure".

bici Your opalstacked.com subdomains work like any other domain managed by our panel.

To use LE with a site that uses your opalstacked.com subdomain, simply enable LE for the site and wait for the certificate to be generated: How can I use a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate?

To create manual DNS records for your opalstacked.com subdomain, simply add them via the panel: Adding DNS Records Manually
