Using Blogger on a sub-domain

Just moved across from Webfaction and have most things working but I am struggling with assigning my Blogger.com blog to a sub-domain of blog.sherlock.co.uk (which worked fine with webfaction)
All DNS is handled at 123-reg.co.uk and I have followed the instructions from Blogger (to set up 2 new CNAME fields, one named blog and pointing to ghs.google.com and the other (also a CNAME) to point to some identifying text.
However, it has been well over an hour now and I'm still getting 'Could not update settings. Try again'.

I did try adding these fields to the OpalStack DNS menu but there are not enough fields on CNAME for all the data and I couldn't have more than one CNAME entry against blog.sherlock.co.uk

Anybody any ideas?

Google isn't telling you to create two CNAMEs for blog.sherlock.co.uk. They want you to create 1 for blog.sherlock.co.uk and another for
I've checked DNS for sherlock.co.uk and it looks like it's actually pointing at us, so you should be able to do this on our end:

Add blog.sherlock.co.uk as a new subdomain.
Add your verification subdomain (eg ajhkakfagfda.sherlock.co.uk, whatever Google assigned to you) as a new domain.
Add the CNAME for blog.sherlock.co.uk pointing to ghs.google.com.
Add the CNAME for the verification subdomain pointing to whatever Google assigned you.
If you've been instructed to create A records for either subdomain, then create those as well pointing to whatever IPs Google told you to use.
Wait a few minutes for the changes to propagate. This usually takes only a few minutes but depending on your DNS resolvers it can take longer to pick it up.

If you've done all of that and it's still not working correctly then please email the details to our support team and we'll have a look 🙂
