Move application to another unix user

I would like to move an application with a Wordpress site from one of my unix users to another. Since one user does not have access right to another user's files I can't just copy over. I COULD SFTP files via my local computer, but since especially the media files take up a lot of space (10 GB) this would take a long time, and I would have to put the live source site into maintenance several hours to avoid problems, I wonder if there is a way to overcome this. Either if support could make the copy or direct me to a shared disk space I could use?

christer The steps to copy an app to a new shell user are:

Run the following command as the new shell user to delete the contents of the new app directory, replacing "appname" with the name of your application.

    rm -rf ~/apps/appname/*

Run the following command as the new shell user to copy the app from the old shell user (replacing 'olduser', 'opalN', and 'appname' as appropriate):

   rsync -Pa olduser@opalN.opalstack.com:apps/appname/ ~/apps/appname/

If necessary adjust the configuration in the copied app, for example to change any hardcoded file paths from olduser to newuser.

OH, I see. Using rsync from one user to other, both on the same server, is the solution. Thanks a lot!

christer another option would be to grant the other shell user access to the app directory and then copy the files over, but in my opinion the rsync way is easier.
