Cast audio

I have got a darkice audio stream currently running on my RaspberryPi and I'm thinking about casting this and hosting a small server on this behalf on Opalstack (currently Icecast2 is also running on my Raspi). What options do I have to do this without installing any software (which I can't without root access ;-)

stephan0h if it actually requires root access then you're out of luck on our platform.

Many things don't actually require root access to install, even if the related documentations assumes you'll be doing it that way. if you can provide a link to your installation instructions then we might be able to help you find a way to get it done.

Ok, I have installed icecast2 under my user. Didn't check if it works, though. But for my understanding as I'm not completely sure how I would make this service available to the outside world: I guess I would need to setup a reverse proxy and link this to a subdomain of mine - right? Nginx Proxy Port would be it? Is there documentation available about how to set it up on opalstack? Thanks 😊

stephan0h yes, you'll need to:

Create a Nginx Proxy Port app and make a note of its port assignment.
Create a site to serve the new app.
Configure icecast2 to to listen on your assigned port and then start it up.
