How do I use Procmail to just delete certain spam emails?

I've never used Procmail before, and Googled how to send email with specific words in the subject to Trash.

But of course then I have to go in and empty the trash periodically (I think?)

Is there a way to just delete the email altogether with Procmail, basically incinerate it so it never touches any mail folder?

Right now I'm using:

* ^Subject:.*(price|reseller)
/dev/null

cbiweb Hello! Your current rule should work, /dev/null will discard the message caught by the filter. Is it not working for you? PS: the filter strings are case-sensitive.

nick Yes, it seems to be working. I assumed it would only send it to Trash because that's what I asked Google about. But I haven't seen a single spam since using that rule. So apparently I'm good to go. Thanks!
