It looks as if access logs are rotated and gzipped daily. In the past I have used e.g. AWStats to do simple analytics without adding tracking JS to my sites. Even if no canned apps are planned to facilitate this, it would be useful to have documentation and whatever support is needed for analytics that scans access logs and potentially provides a web interface to the results for authenticated users. Are there any plans to provide something like this?

Bump. Server side tracking would be awesome instead of something like Matomo.

AWStats or something similar would be nice.

It's on the list! We know a ton of you are bringing over years of AWStats and Webalizer data from WF and we're going to make that work, and we're going to make modern web analytics stuff work for you as well.

etienneh what's your preferred server-side log analytics tool?

kierenp You might be able to set up and use GoAccess in the meantime?

GoAccess is on our shortlist for tools we may end up providing here. If you're using it already please let us know how it's working out for you 🙂

sean I've used it a few times at work (I tend to use Google Analytics on my personal stuff) but when I have used it I've found GoAccess really straightforward to set up and generates very nice looking reports quickly.

iedl we don't have an installer for it yet, but if you've migrated an AWStats app over from WF and need help to get it running here then please email support @ opalstack.com for assistance.
