start/stop for FPM processes in VPS server ?

Is it wise/necessary
reqularly do
stop/start
to running FPM processes
for VPS users ?

Status:
cron jobs are scheduled to stop/start
for each VPS user
each FPM process

Is this feature needed only for
shared hosting ?

Could a web page go offline
for 24 hours
i.e .stop succees
but
.start fails ?

if so
would .stop later proceed ok
and also .start
(in which case
the web site would come
online again) ?

Pros ?

minimizes/protects RAM ?

Cons ?

the web page
fmp process manages
may go offline

You should not need to restart your FPM stacks under normal conditions. The only time you should need to do is if you modify your Nginx or FPM configuration

We do not create any cron jobs that stop your apps. The cron jobs that we create run the app's start command to ensure the app stays running. If the app is already running then the cron job fails silently.

If you remove the cron job for the start command and then stop the app, the app will not restart until you start it manually.

the php app uses
and accept that ?
i.e
instead of having
fixed if statements
(allowing php 7.x, 8.0....)
which you have to
remember to update
whenever
a new php is available

when Linux distro Alma
is taken into use ?
