Customizing PostgreSQL settings

Hello,

I want to ask how I can customize Posgres' settings, such as "max_connections"?

In OpalS, creating a new postgres db is done via the UI, but I didn't see any app create for the db (this is different from Wf: where I could see an app for the private postgres db created and hence was able to customize these settings.)

If this is not available, is it possible to install a posgres db app, similar to these instructions on Wf?

If you need to tune PostgreSQL DB server settings like max_connections then you'll need a private instance.

We don't yet have installers for private DB server instances, but we will in the future.

It should be possible to set up a private PostgreSQL instance manually without too much difficulty. I will try to post a HOWTO here in the coming week.

We plan to move our server over, but w/o a private instance, it may cause us some delays. I hope you can put some overview of the steps here so I can continue (I don't need all the exact commands, just the steps).
