Hello,
I'm ex-WF user who migrated after GoDaddy's acquisition, some two years ago, iirc. Besides WF, I spent some time with VPS-es (Linode, and recently short excursion with Contabo to host BigBlueButton for online meetings), but, I definitely prefer shared web-hosting over VPS freeing me from headaches to admin several servers, especially the one for email.
My current provider (wservices/djangoeurope) which I was using even before WF is quite OK - Debian 10, but our non-profit has started to create much more audio/video content due to p(l)andemia since our meeting our now online. :-)
So, we a bit tight in regard to HD space, so looking for some alternative. Surely, there are cheaper options for web-shared hosting, but we prefer to support company with real people/devs who are familiar to me (sean, klynton).
My needs are more simple today - besides email, I just want to host few TIki CMS site and hopefully SS will be good-enough for.
I did notice Opalstack right when it was obvious that WF is dead, but then email was not ready...now, everything seems fine and hopefully wildcard LE certificates will come soon. 😉
Sincerely,
Gour
